Applauds Progress of EP-JSLP Activities in the District

Acting Nyimba District Commissioner Geoffrey Mumba has commended the progress being made in the implementation of activities under the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme-EP-JSLP, noting that the district is on course in delivering the project’s objectives.
This came to light when the National Agricultural Information Service-NAIS team, led by Provincial Agricultural Information Officer Chisombu Dyaunka, together with EP-JSLP Communications Officer Creavat Chituta, paid a courtesy call on the Acting District Commissioner at his office.
The team was in Nyimba District to collect and disseminate information for television, radio, print, and social media platforms highlighting how EP-JSLP CSA activities are progressing in the district.
They were accompanied by Nyimba District Agricultural Coordinator Mwaaba Lubasi and EP-JSLP District Project Officer for Nyimba Winford Mwale.
Mr. Mumba, who also serves as the District Administrative Officer, described EP-JSLP as a critical intervention in addressing deforestation and land degradation while improving rural livelihoods.
He further encouraged farmers in the district to take full advantage of the opportunities provided under the programme to enhance their productivity and livelihoods.
During the visit, the team also toured Katalalika Farmer Field School in Chikuyu Agricultural Camp, where farmers are implementing climate-smart agricultural practices under the EP-JSLP initiative.
