Climate-Smart Farming Gains Ground in Petauke as Adoption Rates Rise.

Petauke District continues to record encouraging progress in the implementation of the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme-EP-JSLP, with stakeholders expressing optimism over the district’s steady advancement toward its goals.
District Administrative Officer Vincent Chibuye recently commended the progress being made, noting that Petauke is on course in delivering the programme’s objectives aimed at promoting sustainable land management and improving livelihoods.
During the same visit, the National Agricultural Information Service (NAIS) team, led by Provincial Agricultural Information Officer Chisombu Dyaunka and accompanied by EP-JSLP Communications Officer Creavat Chituta, also paid a courtesy call on District Agricultural Coordinator Robbie Musendo.
Mr. Musendo expressed gratitude over the rising adoption of climate-smart agriculture practices among farmers in the district, describing it as a positive step toward resilience and productivity.
He, however, emphasized the need to scale up sensitization efforts to ensure that more farmers embrace sustainable agricultural practices.
The engagements underscored the importance of continued collaboration and awareness to sustain momentum and expand the reach of the programme across the district.
