Ministry of Green Economy Shines as Forest Department and EP-JSLP Win Top Honour at Eastern Province Show

Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr. Lewis Mwape today presided over the awards ceremony marking the close of the 48th Eastern Province Agricultural and Commercial Show at the Katopola Institute Grounds in Chipata.
Dr. Mwape presented awards to outstanding exhibitors and participants in recognition of their excellence, innovation, and commitment to advancing agriculture, commerce, and sustainable development in the province.
Among the notable winners, the Forest Department, exhibiting alongside the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) under the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, scooped Second Prize in the Best Government Institution Category.

The recognition reflects the Ministry’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable land management, environmental conservation, climate resilience, and improved livelihoods across Eastern Province.
The awards ceremony marked the successful conclusion of this year’s show, celebrating the achievements of individuals, institutions, and businesses whose contributions continue to drive agricultural growth and economic development in the province.
