Advancing Climate Action Through Stronger Field Monitoring in Chasefu

The Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) team continued the Cold Season Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Energy Data Collection exercise in Chasefu District.

At Champeta School in Hoya Agricultural Camp, Noah Lungu, Extension Officer under the Ministry of Agriculture, was observed measuring twigs as part of the energy MRV data collection.

The exercise documents climate-smart energy practices that support sustainable landscape management, improve data accuracy, and contribute to results-based emissions reduction efforts.

The monitoring exercise reinforces the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system by generating reliable, high-quality data to support evidence-based climate action, sustainable natural resource management, and improved community livelihoods across Eastern Province.

Ernest Mupemo, the EP-JSLP District Project Officer (DPO) for Chasefu and Chama, was also part of the field monitoring team, providing technical support and oversight to ensure the successful implementation of the exercise.
