We’re building energy-efficient cookstoves for a healthier planet!
Lead farmers from the Nyamasinda Farmer Field School (FFS) in Sinda District are diving into hands-on training on how to construct energy-efficient cookstoves at the Nyamutuma Agricultural Camp, thanks to the support from the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP).
This initiative is all about cutting down on excessive fuelwood use, fighting deforestation, and lowering carbon emissions, while also promoting cleaner and more sustainable cooking methods in our local communities.
Mpenya CFMG trainers, Michael Mbewe, Sophia Banda and Moses Sakala from Forest department in Sinda District, are leading the charge, equipping these farmers with the practical skills they need to build and advocate for energy-efficient cookstoves in their neighbourhoods.
When communities embrace cleaner cooking solutions, every single stove contributes to saving trees, reducing emissions, and nurturing a greener Eastern Province.
