






Katete District Commissioner Raphael Phiri has commended the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) for participating at the recently concluded Field Day in Katete District.
The District Commissioner said the event provided a platform for EP-JSLP to demonstrate sustainable farming practices that help farmers adapt to climate change.
He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling climate change and boosting sustainable livelihoods in the district.

he said
One of the beneficiary farmers under the ZIFLP gave a testimony to the DC, stating that the project has had a transformative impact on their life and that of many others.
Nyapin Banda of Kalimeta village of Sinda District said that support and training received from ZIFLP has enabled most farmers adapt to climate change and conserving environment.
Others also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn about the objectives of the EPJSLP.
Julius Banda noted that gaining an understanding of the program’s goals has inspired farmers to adopt more environmentally friendly and productive farming practices.
He explained that the initiative to incentivize and reward actions that contribute to climate change mitigation has motivated many to take a more active role in adopting climate smart agriculture.
The event, held under the theme “Adapting to Climate Change,” brought together key stakeholders in agriculture, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience to showcase innovations and share experiences in promoting sustainable farming practices.
