EP-JSLP commissions 2026 Beneficiary Impact Survey in Eastern Province

The Government, through the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, has commenced the 2026 Beneficiary Impact Assessment Survey-BIAS under the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme-EP-JSLP, with enumerator training currently underway in Chipata.
The survey, being implemented in partnership with the Zambia Statistics Agency-ZamStats, Biocarbon Partners-BCP, and Community Markets for Conservation-COMACO, will cover all 15 districts of Eastern Province and target households supported by the programme.

The assessment aims to collect detailed data on non-carbon benefits, focusing on social and economic improvements in the livelihoods of rural communities benefiting from sustainable natural resource and landscape management interventions.
The BIAS survey is expected to provide critical feedback on project performance, help identify gaps, and guide future adjustments to enhance impact.
It will also strengthen transparency and accountability while improving the programme’s credibility with funders and stakeholders.
The initiative underscores EP-JSLP’s commitment to ensuring that environmental programmes deliver tangible social and economic benefits, particularly for vulnerable groups in rural areas.
