PETAUKE FARMERS URGED TO EMBRACE CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE FOR RESILIENCE

Farmers in Petauke District have been encouraged to embrace Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) as a practical way of building resilience to climate change, improving productivity and promoting sustainable land management.
The call was made during the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) radio show, held on PASME Radio 91.3 FM in Petauke, where key stakeholders shared insights on climate-smart farming and sustainable agriculture.
The programme featured Petauke farmer Grace Mumba, who shared her experiences and perspectives on adopting climate-smart agriculture practices.

Also participating were EP-JSLP Petauke and Lusangazi District Project Officer Ms Chipango Lukungu, Mr. Siko from COMACO, Mr. Moffat Tonga from the Meteorological Department, and Mr. Kingford Chama, representing the Ministry of Agriculture.
The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration among farmers, government and other stakeholders in helping communities adapt to climate change and build more resilient agricultural systems.
