Strengthening Community Forest Governance in Eastern Province
District Project Officers and Community Forest Management Group-CFMG representatives recently participated in a CFM refresher training held in Mfuwe, Mambwe District.
The training, conducted under the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme, focused on proper CFMG formation procedures, constitution development, and strengthening forest safeguards in line with the Forest Act.
Implemented by the Forestry Department under the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, with support from the World Bank, the refresher course enhanced governance, accountability, and sustainable forest management practices to protect community forests for future generations.
