Traditional leadership engaged in protecting Lundazi national forest
Later, a delegation led by Assistant Secretary Mr. Clement Chilembo, alongside the Acting Director of Forestry at the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, Dr. Freddie Siangulube, and officials from the EP-JSLP, Forestry Department, COMACO, Biocarbon Partners-BCP, and other stakeholders, paid a courtesy call on Chief Kazembe of the Chewa-speaking people in Lumezi District at his palace.
The delegation discussed the condition of the Lundazi National Forest, focusing on challenges such as encroachment, cropping, and settlement.
The team also conducted an on-site assessment to observe encroachment activities taking place within the forest.
