EP-JSLP TO HONOUR SCRIBES AT 2026 MISA ZAMBIA AWARDS

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – The Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) has joined many other partners that have come on board to support the 2026 MISA Zambia Platinum and Golden Media Awards.

As part of its support, EP-JSLP will sponsor four award categories aimed at recognising and rewarding journalists whose work promotes climate action, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and sustainable community livelihoods.

The EP-JSLP-sponsored award categories are:

• Best Reporting on Climate-Smart Agriculture and Sustainable Land Management

• Best Reporting on Climate Resilience and Alternative Community Livelihoods

• Best Reporting on Fuel-Efficient and Alternative Cooking Solutions

• Climate Change Reporting Champion

The awards will recognise journalists who have produced accurate, informative, innovative, and impactful content that raises public awareness and promotes practical solutions to climate-related and environmental challenges.

EP-JSLP’s support reflects its commitment to strengthening public understanding of sustainable landscape management and supporting the media’s critical role in promoting climate-smart practices, environmental conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and resilient communities.

Through these categories, journalists are encouraged to highlight stories on climate-smart Journalists play a critical role in translating complex climate and environmental issues into information that communities, policymakers, and other stakeholders can understand and act upon. The support from EP-JSLP will encourage more journalists to produce high-quality stories that promote sustainable development, climate resilience, and responsible environmental management.

The 2026 MISA Zambia Platinum and Golden Media Awards brings together journalists, media organisations, government institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, the private sector, and other stakeholders to celebrate excellence and recognise outstanding contributions to media development in Zambia.

The MISA Zambia Media Awards, which have been held annually since 2002, remain one of the country’s leading platforms for promoting professional journalism, innovation, ethical reporting, and excellence in the media sector.

Journalists from across the country are encouraged to submit eligible entries in the EP-JSLP-sponsored categories and contribute to advancing public dialogue on climate change, sustainable land management, environmental conservation, and resilient community livelihoods.
