ZAMBIA JOINS GLOBAL DIALOGUE ON SCALING CLIMATE ACTION THROUGH GREEN CARBON FINANCE

as Zambia Contributes to Global Green Carbon Finance Discussions in Paris

The Ministry of Green Economy and Environment is participating in the Joint Green Carbon Funds Meeting being held at the World Bank Country Office in Paris, Franc, from 29 June to 2 July 2026.
Representing Zambia at the meeting are Mr. Noel Muchimba, Programme Coordinator for the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape programme (EP-JSLP); Mr. Arthur Asumani, MRV Technical Officer; and Mr. John Banda, National Coordinator of TRALARD.

The Joint Green Carbon Funds Meeting brings together countries and development partners under the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), the BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes (ISFL), Scaling Climate Action by Lowering Emissions (SCALE), and Enable to reflect on how to deliver carbon finance at scale through jurisdictional REDD+ programmes.

The meeting provides a platform for participants to exchange experiences and lessons learned on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, promoting the conservation and sustainable management of forests, enhancing forest carbon stocks, and mobilising results-based climate finance.

It also highlights innovative practices and success stories while fostering dialogue on common implementation challenges and practical solutions.

Through its participation, Zambia is sharing its experiences and learning from other countries to strengthen the implementation of forest and climate programmes.

The engagement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to advancing sustainable forest management, climate resilience, and access to green carbon finance that supports low-emission and sustainable development.

Together, Zambia is strengthening partnerships and advancing innovative climate solutions for resilient forests, thriving communities, and a greener future.
