Chieftainess Kawaza Leads the Way in Climate Action
Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Kawaza of the Chewa Peoplehas officially signed the Chiefdom Emissions Reduction Performance Plan-CERPP at Kagoro Palace in Katete District, marking a key milestone in advancing community-led climate action.
The signing reflects continued progress under the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Program-EP-JSLP to strengthen partnerships with traditional leadership and implement sustainable land management initiatives across chiefdoms.
Through the CERPP framework, chiefdoms are empowered to coordinate emissions reduction efforts, promote environmental stewardship, and support resilient livelihoods within their communities.
