The EP-JSLP monitoring team also visited Headman Kamalizya in Jumbe Chiefdom,Jumbe Agriculture Camp, where his leadership is making a positive impact in promoting environmental conservation and sustainable energy practices.
Headman Kamalizya is championing awareness on the importance of conserving the environment by encouraging households to adopt improved cookstoves as a cleaner and more efficient alternative to the traditional three-stone fire.
His efforts are helping to reduce pressure on forest resources, improve household energy efficiency, and inspire greater community participation in climate-smart initiatives.
His commitment demonstrates the vital role that traditional leaders play in driving behaviour change and supporting the Eastern Province Jurisdictional Sustainable Landscape Programme (EP-JSLP) in building resilient communities and achieving sustainable landscape management.
